I have always been an HP guy. I have been using network HP laser printers for over ten years. I was hesitant going outside my comfort level, but made the jump and wouldn't be happier.
This Samsung printer works great for my purpose. I run a small business and needed a good printer to handle scanning documents, faxing documents and general printing. This printer has worked flawlessly over the last 6 months and the toner has gone about 1500 pages so far. Scanning is a cinch once you get used to i
t (PDF format). I use it for all my accounts payable and recievables and the contrast and clarity is really good for B&W. I have dumped 35,000 pages worth of paperwork by scanning it all in and keeping only an electronic file system (remember to backup all files for IRS purposes, it costs alot to have data retrieved on a crashed hard drive).
It took me about an hour to setup the system for wireless and intalling the drivers on a Windows platform. Which is longer than expected. Just follow the CD instructions. I even configured it to do IP printing when on the go with my laptop (I couldn't figure it out, but had my nephew do it for me). Don't use Samsung's "ask question" section, I've seen posts on there for weeks. Use other sites like "Yahoo Answers" or some of the tech sites.
The only thing I would recommend is lightly cleaning the upper rollers with a diluted solution of water and rubbing alchohol once every 1,000 pages if you scan like I do. Besides that you can't go wrong with this printer if you are just a little bit computer savyyyy....
I have used this printer for the last 2.5 years and have gone through 5 toners so far (around 3000 pages per toner on low quality). It still works well. I don't think that I've had one work so flawlessly. I have been using it less, since I've leased a commercial color printer. But it works everytime I send a document it's way, even sitting idle for weeks.

I previously had Samsung SCX-4100 (connected to Windows XP PC). It worked well but was getting old (at least 5 years old).I ordered new SCX-4623FW. After installation from the CD, I could print from the localPC (connected via USB) and from other PCs in the house (wifi connection).I am now using Windows 7 64 bit. The Samsung Scan Manager will not install on my PC. I tried toinstall from the CD and also went to Samsung website and downloaded latest Scan mgr.software. It would not install eithe
r. I installed the Samsung SmartThru4 software (whichworked correctly with SCX-4100) but it could not recognize the new SCX-4623FW printer.I suspect the problems I am having are related to the fact that I am using Windows 7 64 bit (thoughthe Samsung website said the scan mgr (which I downloaded) would work with Windows 7 64 bit.

I have been looking for a laser multifunction printer for several months. This is a new machine to Amazon and the price was just right. I installed this on my home network and everything went flawlessly. I installed the driver disc on all the computers, and let the menu options auto detect the Samsung. Within minutes, I was printing. This printer warms up fast and prints pages really fast.My home network consists of PC's equipped with the following operating systems: Windows 7 - 64 bit, Vista 64
bit, and Vista home 32 bit.I highly recommend this model. Also holds 250 sheets of paper in the tray. Built in fax, and all kinds of useful features. Get it...you will love it!
This copier/printer/scanner/fax machine is great for the small business owner. The wireless system was easy to set up -- just a few clicks and router info, and it was running. Black ink only, but that is ok - I'm tired of spending $$$$$ on color. I recommend it for home or small business use.
